The art industry has been profoundly affected by artificial intelligence-generated artwork in the last year. Even given the different outcomes we've seen, more experimentation and debate are sure to come. Artist Antti Karppinen from Finland demonstrates the potential of AI art generators by making new works of art using his own photographs.
In the year since I first experimented with artificial intelligence photos, the field has come a long way. Basically, he was only curious as to how the AI would do if given a reference picture of his own creation and given free reign to create new images. He then compares the AI-generated drawing to the actual picture. The similarities between the original and the digital form are often startling.
It's interesting to note that the AI-generated artwork has trouble rendering human anatomy correctly, often adding additional fingers or otherwise messing up the details. You can adapt; include AI into your arsenal of strategies. He's always trying to educate himself on its inner workings and forthcoming features.
